Mission Statement
The Chinese Culture Connection (CCC) is a 501 c (3) nonprofit educational organization founded 1985. The mission of CCC is to promote intercultural harmony, strengthen the diverse communities and build bridges between American and Chinese citizens through interactive educational programs and the arts. Our objectives: ●To inspire cultural curiosity, dialogue and appreciation, and foster pride among all people regardless of their native origin; ●To nurture the knowledge and value of their Chinese heritage to American-born Chinese, so they may preserve and develop a positive cultural identity; ●To support immigrants to balance their cultural heritage and current American life, so they may realize their American dreams.
Description
We are a diverse group of Chinese, Chinese American and non-Chinese people who share an enthusiasm for culture in general, and Chinese culture in particular. We subscribe to the idea that learning about cultures enriches life and provides a powerful way for different people to connect.
We believe that the mission of CCC is more timely than ever because of the ascendancy of China in the world economy, the increased movement of people around the globe, and, perhaps most important, because the future of the world rests on our ability, as a people, to understand, appreciate and find common ground with those whose culture is different than our own.
