The Buckner Family Hope Center is a community-based place of hope where families go to find strength and empowerment to reach their fullest God-given potential. The key to the Family Hope Center is the passion-driven staff and volunteers who devote themselves to walking alongside families through trials and struggles and ultimately towards success as defined by that family. We would love to have a church group plan and run a VBS - themes are encouraged! The most successful VBS events that we've seen include Bible stories, games, music, and activities to keep the kiddos engaged. Children will range from the ages of 5 to 13. Our VBS dates are Monday July 18th through Wednesday July 20th from 11 am to 12:30 or 1 pm. Volunteers should arrive at 10:15 am each day for setup and orientation! All volunteers should be at least 12 years of age, and anyone under 18 should be accompanied by an adult over 21 years old.

Description

About Us
Buckner International is a ministry dedicated to the transformation and restoration of the lives we serve. We are a Christ-centered organization that delivers redemptive ministry to the most vulnerable from the beginning to the ending of life.

Our legacy

Dr. Robert Cooke "Father" Buckner founded Buckner Orphans Home in Dallas after seeing the needs of hurting and orphaned children in post-Civil War Texas. In the first years, Buckner Orphans Home was filled with children left parentless due to disease and hardship.

It was Father Buckner’s deep compassion for the hopeless and helpless that served as the driving force behind his ministry. He constantly looked for innovative ways to deliver social ministries, including those to elders, combining his theological beliefs with a progressive social conscience.
