The Elmira Correction Facility is in need of volunteers to help with the Visitor Hospitality Center. Volunteers would greet visitors, direct them to sign-in/register, provide them with a COVID test (self-administered - volunteers do not administer the test) and invite the visitors to wait in the hospitality center until it is their turn to visit. The Visitor Hospitality Center is currently open from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Saturdays & Sundays.

Mission Statement

Make a Difference in Your Community!

Description

Make a Difference in Your Community!

CVAC is a program of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chemung County.

CVAC provides education and opportunities for people of all ages to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. CVAC volunteers contribute anywhere from a few to over forty hours a week, serving through schools, hospitals, food pantries, and other nonprofit and public organizations to help meet critical community needs. Our staff members work with agencies and organizations to offer individuals maximum flexibility and choice.

With CVAC you can either enroll as a Cornell Cooperative Extension volunteer to work directly with our programs, or sign you up as an affiliated volunteer and work with any number of partner agencies. In both cases, we match your interests to those of agencies needing your skills and talents.
