As our Asante Africa Foundation team and programs continue to grow and we are in need of experienced graphic designers to help us create engaging interactive content. We are seeking a volunteer(s) to assist with design and editing of materials and who can take conceptual ideas and create visual representations, both in print and electronic media.
This person should be able to bring ideas to fruition from written or spoken ideas and convert them into a design that connects with our community. The individual in this role will also have an in-depth understanding of Adobe products or compatible design software for branding and marketing with various style layouts.
The individual in this position will be responsible for collaborating with multiple teams within the organization here in USA and in East Africa.
Responsibilities:
- Create and design various materials for print and digital media
- Create graphics for marketing campaigns
- Banners for website, blog, and sm platforms
- Event graphics and print materials, Photo retouching
- Ensure projects are completed with high quality with no delay
- Contribute to creative direction for the organization
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects
- Collaborate with individuals from the Marketing and PR teams for digital and marketing designs
Requirements:
- Past experience in graphic design
- Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, print, and the web
- Knowledge of Adobe products and other graphic design software
- Portfolio of work over a wide range of creative projects
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent eye for detail
- Ability to be both creative and work within guidelines
- Proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision

Description
We form partnerships with African communities and work with passionate local program managers who are deeply committed to creating change in their African villages. We envision African communities and families in which children have the opportunity to receive QUALITY education to define their futures. Generous contributions from Asante Africa Foundation donors bring these dreams to life.
Local villagers define their needs for achieving quality education, through infrastructures for all children attending school (such as construction of schools and sanitation facilities, serving a daily meal), providing teaching resources and educational materials, and funding scholarships / sponsorship for highly motivated and academically gifted children.
Asante is the Swahili word for thank you. We are thankful to be active members of the communities we serve and we are grateful to our donors who fund projects that bring opportunity, choice and possibility to African villages.
