Do you have a thirst for knowledge? Do you find researching family history fascinating? If so, volunteering at the Genealogy Desk at Central Resource Library might be the right fit for you. Dedicated, independent volunteers with an intermediate knowledge of Genealogy are needed to assist library patrons in their research. A basic knowledge of how to use the Dewey Decimal System and research databases (Johnson County Genealogy Society, Acestry.com, Heritage Quest, Family Search, etc.) are needed. Additional training will be provided prior to working independently. We are looking for a volunteer to serve weekly or bi-weekly at the desk on Saturday afternoons from 1-4PM.
Masks are recommended but not required for volunteering. A plexiglass partition is also in place at the Genealogy Desk.
