Join the SoundBio Lab Fundraising committee!
www.sound.bio
Be part of a welcoming and passionate team of volunteers coming up with creative events and initiatives to support SoundBio Lab’s mission of supporting equitable science in our region. We maintain an accessible lab space in the U-district and run regular education and outreach programs. We emphasise volunteerism and low cost solutions so our running costs are pretty low, but we also keep our fees low and run many programs for now cost and where possible provide stipends to participants to broaden access to authentic research experiences and engaging hands-on STEM learning. That means we need to fundraise, which we do through community campaigns, fun events and applying for grant support and sponsorship.
As a committee member you will get to be part of a fun and welcoming team while you develop your skills as a fundraiser and a leader in STEM organizing. Committee members contribute roughly 10 hours of work per month, of which 2 hours is a regular monthly meeting, and the rest is flexible project work. Prior fundraising experience is awesome if you have it, but not required, we can learn together and support each other.
FILL IN THIS SHORT APPLICATION FORM: https://forms.gle/v6W4iFhsn91LhgfD7, and then you'll be invited to come and join a meeting and get to chat to current members and find out more about what would be involved before making any commitments.
The position can be largely fulfilled virtually. It would help if you live in the Seattle region and would on occasion be willing to attend in person events.
