This project aims to break the cycle of poverty and drive economic vitality in the region by uniting student and family supports from education to career. Using a promise scholarship to cover gaps in funding needed to attend college or other post-secondary programs as incentive, the initiative is a bold, cross-sector collaboration that brings together regional partnerships to develop a holistic solution to the issues our region is working to solve. The initiative breaks down silos and connects existing community resources together, realigning resources to best serve students and their families from pre-school through high school in preparation for post-secondary educational opportunity. The Year 1 VISTA member serving on this project will support this goal primarily through community volunteer engagement, communication, development and stewardship.
