Volunteering is more fun as a group! Families and friends volunteering together create everlasting memories and experiences to last a lifetime. Volunteering as a group is an excellent approach to enhancing a company's team through camaraderie. There are many areas for volunteer opportunities such areas include:

  • Donations sorting
  • Donations organization
  • Tidying and cleaning
  • Assembling and staging
Volunteering as a group helps forge a new bond with shared values. Rose Haven provides the opportunity for individuals to grow in empathy and emotional intelligence. We generally try to schedule groups for Wednesday afternoons, but we can be flexible with your schedule.

Rose Haven serves women, children, and marginalized genders experiencing poverty and homelessness in Portland. Our guests have been directly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, as many social service agencies have been forced to close their doors. We have remained open to provide meals, showers and restrooms, advocacy, mailboxes and phones, financial assistance, and essential supplies.

About Rose Haven

Location:

1740 NW Glisan St., Portland, OR 97209, US

Mission Statement

Our Vision: A community where everyone has safety, stability, love, health and home. Our Mission: To provide day shelter, resources, emotional support and community connections to women, children and marginalized genders experiencing homelessness and poverty.

Description

Safety, Resources and Community:
Rose Haven is a day shelter and community center in Portland OR serving women, children and marginalized genders experiencing poverty, trauma and intersecting issues. Service hours are Monday - Friday from 9:00-12:00; and volunteer opportunities are available from 8:00-4:00.

Rose Haven is a low-barrier agency that exists not to just meet basic needs, but to nurture souls and improve the emotional, mental and physical well-being of our guests and our community as a whole. We understand our agency exists within larger systems of oppression, and we seek to disrupt those structures through radical hospitality, advocacy on an individual and community level, and meaningful connections to resources. Recognizing the isolation and loneliness that homelessness can create, we work to hold a space where all guests can connect, have voice and be empowered.
