Mission Statement

Every Child develops, preserves, and strengthens the relationships to family and community that are essential to every child’s growth and development through child-focused, family-driven services.

Description

Every Child, Inc. was founded in 1997 by Susan Davis on the belief that all children, no matter their age, race, disability, or special health care need, deserve the opportunity to grow up with a loving and lasting family. Initially focused on providing care and support for foster children with significant medical needs, Every Child has broadened our services to provide foster care and adoption services as well as clinical and therapeutic care to children and families across Southwestern Pennsylvania. Every year, Every Child transforms the lives of over 1,500 children and family members through our programs and services. Our clinicians and therapists strive to empower families to build the skills and find the strength to stay together. Our primary goal is to prevent children from being removed from their family of birth. If that is not possible, or if a child has already been removed from the home, we work to place children in safe, nurturing temporary homes and give birth families the inspiration, tools and support to be reunited with their children. For children whose birth families are unable to care for them safely, we find loving, permanent homes. We provide therapeutic support and social services through eight programs, and many families spend time in more than one program, depending upon the needs of the family and the children. The hard work of our families and staff to create safe, nurturing home environments enables children to have bright futures and strengthens our communities in ways that impact us all.
