Recruiting Organization: Lenox Hill Neighborhood House
Lenox Hill Neighborhood House is a 128-year-old settlement house widely recognized as one of New York's premier human services providers. Founded in 1894 as a free kindergarten for immigrant children, the Neighborhood House now serves 16,000 people in need each year through a wide array of effective and integrated services--social, educational, legal, health, housing, mental health, nutritional and fitness.
We are seeking volunteers to teach a beginner level English as a Second Language class for adult learners. Our English as a Second Language program provides a high quality, interactive instruction to a diverse student body. We seek to increase students' language skills confidence in speaking and comprehension of English. Volunteers will co-teach a weekly class on Tuesday or Thursday, 9:30am-12:00pm, from July 12 - September 1. Classes meet at 331 East 70th Street, Manhattan.
