Heartland Hospice serves many counties in our area and a large number of volunteers are needed to ensure each of our clients and/or patients are able to be partnered with a volunteer. The variety of needs our clients and/or patients have are wide-ranging therefore, many volunteers each with something different to offer could help us to meet the needs of our clients and/or patients.

There are patients who need a respite sitter for a couple of hours to allow the caregiver to get out for a short amount of time. There are some who need to be read to, to listen to music with somebody, to pray with, and even just sit with. It is a lonely time for our clients and patients and we want to provide them with every comfort we can offer.

We also need volunteers to go to nursing homes to paint fingernails, do crafts, throw birthday parties, and celebrate our veterans. Our clients and/or patients also enjoy receiving cards, lap blankets, knitted socks/beanies and other various items you think could make them more comfortable.

There is even a need for volunteers in our office to help with basic office tasks. This could be making phone calls, scanning, filing, or organizing
