We are so excited to have a few interns join us this summer!! This position can be worked around your schedule on certain days. This position is not paid and volunteer only. Interns will help with student events, mentorship, doing tasks and errands to support the Academy, social media, and also potential projects. We like to have fun while working hard to create the best opportunities for our students! If you have a focus in a field/major and wish to help in a specific way, we do offer focused projects to help you advance in your future field and invest in the students and the Academy. This is a great chance to work with some amazing kids and impact their lives and see what working in a non-profit is like!

About The Nest Academy

6824 Democracy Drive, CHARLOTTE, NC 28212, US

Mission Statement

Where we educate, empower and enrich Charlotte’s refugee, immigrant, underprivileged and at-risk children through a holistic education addressing the whole child: academically, emotionally, socially and experientially to become first-generation graduates. A trauma-informed, holistic approach to education to promote whole healthy youth for tomorrow.

EDUCATE, ENRICH and EMPOWER students through education, a sense of COMMUNITY with LOVE and RESPECT and to encourage them to become confident, educated, accomplished, giving and successful first generation refugee high school graduates. WE HAVE SEEN GREAT SUCCESS! The academy is UNIQUE, it is OUT OF THE BOX and unprecedented. We have created a custom learning environment that is multi age, multi grade and multi faceted. We integrate creative, performing and visual arts, music and rhythm therapy, provide a holistic approach to address the whole child, welcome public speakers in the community to inspire students, offer cutting edge physical, social, emotional training, and many experiential opportunities outside of the classroom, much like those MC personally experienced growing up. Upon graduation, our students are equipped to succeed in America.
