Maya's Hope works to improve the quality of life of orphaned, impoverished, and special-needs children on a global scale. We are seeking a skilled volunteer Fundraising Copywriter to join our team. Your role will be instrumental in crafting captivating write-ups that appeal to our donor base and inspire them to contribute to our cause.

This task will consist of reading through one or more interviews, taking in various artifacts (photos, videos, casefiles) in order to collect together a complete picture of the beneficiary as well as writing the fundraisers.

Responsibilities:

• Read through applicant interviews and review case artifacts such as photos, videos, and case files in order to gain a complete picture of the applicant’s story and ask additional questions if needed.
• Collaborate with the fundraising team to develop engaging and persuasive copy for various fundraising campaigns and initiatives.
• Write compelling stories, impact statements, and donation appeals that evoke emotion, highlight our mission, and effectively communicate the importance of supporting Maya's Hope.
• Tailor the messaging to resonate with different segments of our donor base, ensuring that each communication speaks directly to their interests and motivations.
• Adapt and refine existing content to maximize its impact and maintain consistency across multiple channels, such as emails, social media, website, and fundraising materials.
• Conduct thorough research to gather information about our projects, success stories, and impact, using it to create persuasive narratives that connect with our audience.
• Collaborate with the design team to ensure that the written content is visually appealing and supports the overall messaging and branding of Maya's Hope.

Qualifications:

• Exceptional writing skills with the ability to convey complex ideas in a concise, compelling, and persuasive manner.
• Experience in copywriting, preferably with a focus on fundraising or non-profit campaigns.
• Knowledge of storytelling techniques to create narratives that inspire empathy, compassion, and action.
• Strong research skills to gather information and data about our projects and effectively incorporate them into fundraising materials.
• Understanding of donor motivations and the ability to tailor messaging to resonate with different audiences.
• Attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members to achieve shared goals.
• Familiarity with non-profit organizations and the challenges faced by orphaned and disadvantaged children is a plus.

Time Commitment:

• This volunteer position requires a commitment of approximately 5-10 hours per week. The schedule can be flexible based on your availability and project deadlines.
