We are looking for ongoing volunteers to support Dharma Gates with a variety of activities, based on a person's background, experience, and passion. Currently, we could use support with fundraising, nonprofit administration, bookkeeping, social media, event planning, tracking impact, running our podcast, running our blog, equity & inclusion, and more.
Because we're a very small organization, volunteering with Dharma Gates is not so different from being a full team member. You'll be invited to all of our weekly meetings, come to understand how the organization works, and be invited to give input major decisions. People who maintain a personal practice, are good at problem solving and "learning as you go", and would be interested in being a part of a small dynamic team would be a great fit.
We're looking for people who can commit to offering five or more hours per week for at least three months. If you are passionate about meditation, mental health, community organizing, or working with young people, contact us!
There is a possibility that this would become a part-time, paid position.

Mission Statement
Dharma Gates is a grassroots nonprofit dedicated to opening pathways into formal meditation training for young adults. We connect young practitioners to a variety of Buddhist teachers and practice centers, working to eliminate the conceptual, logistical, and financial barriers to practice. We foster connections through which practitioners can cultivate compassion, resilience, and clarity to meet the unique challenges of our times.
Description
Dharma Gates is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (founding year 2020) that offers donation-based introductory retreats and events to young adults interested in meditation practice. We collaborate with a variety of Buddhist communities, teachers, and lineages to provide accessible experiences of traditional meditation practice and an open, exploratory space for young people to connect to one another and discern their own relationship with Buddhist traditions of meditation.
We also offer a newsletter and a podcast sharing resources about meditation practice and offer 1:1 advising for those interested in attending a meditation retreat or spending time practicing meditation intensively in a residential setting.
