Are you a woman interested in becoming part of a team that brings hope and healing to your community? This service year internship opportunity allows women the opportunity to work with youth and adults impacted by incarceration, gangs, and violence at Project Kinship in Santa Ana, CA.

Project Kinship’s staff provide emotional support and advocacy to individuals through the stages of change and transformation by providing early intervention, prevention, reentry support and intervention, as well as assistance with system network care and service to help empower those they encounter to seek a meaningful and productive life.

Service descriptions can be adjusted based on the interest, skills and talents of the St. Joseph Worker to meet her needs and those of the Placement Site. Opportunities include fund development, event planning, marketing and communications or direct services programs:

  • Elementary, middle and high school outreach / Restorative practices
  • Adult re-entry services
  • Transitional Age Youth Services
  • Work and Gain Employment & Education Skills for Youth and Young adults
  • Community Outreach and Engagement
  • Case planning and management for Youth Development Court
  • Employment Services for adults
  • Behavioral Health

We invite women ages 21-35 to join our St. Joseph Worker program. We have short- and long-term placements, 6-11 months. We provide room and board a monthly stipend, transportation to service site, health insurance if needed, and mentoring and training for personal and professional development. Besides work experience our volunteers have the opportunity to develop and grow in spirituality in the spirit of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange.

The St. Joseph Worker Program empowers women to respond to the needs of the times in the tradition of the Sisters of St. Joseph.

Description

We invite women between the ages of 21 - 35 to make a personal commitment to serve their dear neighbor while enriching themselves in four core values of spirituality, justice, leadership, and community and simplicity. Our workers live and work in Orange County; together forming an intentional community. Placements are in social services, education, healthcare, advocacy and systemic change.

We provide monthly stipend, room & board, transportation to and from work, health insurance. We also offer the option of spiritual mentoring, student loan deferment/forbearances, and most importantly support from the sisters.
