A hospice patient with HIV/AIDS needs help. Be the one to make a difference in the last months of this person's life by volunteering through Heartland Hospice.
Volunteers must be at least 18-years-old to visit patients. Heartland (formerly ProMedica) Hospice requires all volunteers to get the annual flu shot and provides it for free. Volunteers must be fully vaccinated against COVID. Volunteers must complete two TB skin tests (available for free in the Heartland Ann Arbor office), and a fingerprint background check (paid for by Heartland). We provide extensive training to ensure volunteers are fully prepared for their work. All visitation volunteers must complete an N95 mask fit test in the Heartland office in Ann Arbor.

Mission Statement
Heartland Hospice provides quality care to patients with a limited life expectancy, as well as support to their families and caregivers. Formerly known as ProMedica Hospice, Heartland enhances the quality of life of those we serve through palliative and specialized supportive care designed to meet the physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of the patients and caregivers. Hospice care is provided by using an interdisciplinary approach in delivering care to patients--either in their own homes or extended care facilities--while working cooperatively with other health care providers and other community resources. Heartland Hospice strives to provide care to all who are eligible and need hospice care irrespective of ability to pay. Heartland is part of Gentiva Health Services.
