Manomin County Park in Fridley is home to an ongoing buckthorn removal restoration project that has been underway for several years. We have been diligently pulling young trees and clipping back old plants, and are beginning to see positive results but there is still more to do!
Equipment and training is provided the day of the restoration event. Parking is free!

Description
The Volunteers-In-Parks program is a joint program with Mississippi Park Connection. Mississippi National River and Recreation Area represents America's greatest river, the Mississippi, which weaves together the natural and cultural heritage and economic vitality of the region. The National Park Service works with partners to foster increased citizen awareness, advocacy, and enjoyment of the resources of the Mississippi River.
Volunteer-In-Parks provides people with opportunities to discover, experience, and enjoy the diversity of the Mississippi River while also preserving it for future generations through volunteer restoration projects and education programs.
