The League of Women Voters Oakland seeks two sets of photographs:
1) 6 to 8 images of Oakland murals, landmarks and parks. The purpose is to communicate that we serve all communities. The images will be used on our new website, www.lwvoakland.org. They are intended to be inspirational, consistent with the main homepage image but on a local, close-up scale.
2) 4-6 images of student voter registration events (during Covid these are on high school campuses) and of speakers bureau events (September-October 2022) when we host candidate forums.
An all-volunteer organization Leagues of Women Voters are all over the country dating back to the 1920s when people sought the right to vote through the suffragette's movement. While the Oakland League is part of national and state actions, our priorities are set by our local members. We are a tax-exempt organization and have a modest budget to reimburse for expenses. We will follow customary practice to credit the artist.

Dating to its founding in 1920, the League of Women Voters U.S. has a long, proud history of expanding voter access, fighting voter suppression, advocating for limits of money in politics, and opposing partisan and racial gerrymandering. We believe in the power of women to create a more perfect democracy.
The League of Women Voters Oakland is part of a national network of more than 700 local and state Leagues with more than 500,000 members nationally operating in all 50 states. With more than 300 members, League of Women Voters Oakland is the largest per capita membership of any big city League in the State of California, serving Oakland voters since 1964.
