ORGANIZATION: The Salvation Army

The resource navigator answers calls from families in need in Denver Metro and helps them by providing information, referrals, and intake assessment over the phone.

Our operations are 9am - 4pm, Monday - Friday. Ideally, volunteers can work 4-24 hours per week during these open times.

Specific Functions:
A. Answers calls for information regarding The Salvation Army’s assistance programs and other community resources
B. Assess needs and identify resources.
C. Documents calls accurately utilizing a computerized internal database
D. Use active and compassionate communication skills
E. Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
* Have a passion for The Salvation Army mission
* Competent in working independently within clear parameters
* Excellent customer service skills
* Able to creatively problem-solve and think on their feet
* Excellent attention to detail skills
* Strong communication and people skills over the phone.

* Critical Thinking
* Sound judgment and decision making
* Skilled in working with a team
* Customer service orientation
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Attention to detail
Software-related skills: Computer proficiency and working knowledge of integrated database applications and ability to use new software programs with basic training.
