Patient visitation, life review, discuss hobbies and interests, current events, read or sing to patient, accompany patients outside if appropriate, companionship and socialization, monitor and report progress to hospice team. May sit with patient while caregiver runs errands, but no hands-on care. Communications with hospice team and dependability for patients and families, Compassionate, caring, good listening skills, able to sit quietly at times if needed. Interest in others and their life stories, own transportation, able to complete and send in documentation after each visit.
