LEADER OPPORTUNITY: Manage Donated Items for the Homeless

ORGANIZATION: The Midnight Mission



WHAT: Lead volunteers in the sorting of in-kind donations such as clothing, food, home items, and hygiene supplies that will go to people experiencing homelessness.

ABOUT THE MIDNIGHT MISSION: The Midnight Mission offers a path to self-sufficiency to men, women, and children who have lost everything. Through our services, we help remove obstacles to self-sufficiency and provide the accountability and structure that people who are experiencing homelessness need to rejoin their communities.

THE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY YOU'D LEAD: In the "Sort Donations to Help Skid Row" opportunity, approximately 20 volunteers aged 10 and up sort the in-kind donations Midnight Mission receives. These could be anything from toys to towels.

AS THE PROJECT LEADER, YOU'D BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Calling/emailing volunteers who signed up to ensure they'll attend

Planning the day's work with with the Midnight Mission

Training and leading the volunteers on the day of

Inputting attendance

TIME COMMITMENT: 8am - 12pm every other Saturday

LOCATION: The Midnight Mission, Skid Row

PROJECT LEADER REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Public Health requires all Midnight Mission volunteers to be fully vaccinated and boosted

Attend an L.A. Works training

Commit to leading the project for 6 months or more
