Ace Dog Supply Event - Volunteers Needed Saturday 5/14!!!

Save to Favorites

Help Us Out!

Hey you amazing dog loving volunteers,

Quick Overview: We have a Supply Distribution Event on Saturday 5/14 and we need your help! Are you available from 1-5pm? If you can't stay the full 1-5pm, we have shorter shifts, too, such as 1-3, 2-5 or helping with transports would be amazing too!

Mission or Broader Program Description: We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing dogs from various Los Angeles shelters the day they are to be euthanized. Our goal is to help provide animals with a second chance to a happy life and to help reduce pet overpopulation through spay and neuter programs. Once rescued, we place our dogs into loving foster homes while they await adoption. We do not keep dogs in kennels. Placing the dogs in foster homes is the first step to rehabilitation, as it allows us to thoroughly evaluate a dog's demeanor and needs enabling us to make the perfect match of dog and the permanent owner. We attribute our high rate of successful placement to our foster program. At Ace of Hearts, we do not discriminate against any breed, including those in the bully breed family. Additionally, Ace of Hearts is dedicated to educating the public on how to be responsible pet owners and on the importance of spaying and neutering. We believe the real solution to pet overpopulation is through spaying and neutering pets.

Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities:

Helping with setup and/or teardown

Preparing care packages

Pickup supplies from Henco Pet in Sun Valley

Transporting supplies from their event to foster homes

Raising donations

Additional Details:

In addition to needing volunteers for this event, we are always in need of standby volunteers for the next two weeks. For example, transporting a dog to the vet or delivering medication for a dog in need, dog walking or even fostering for just a few nights.

If this sounds of interest to you, please reply with your availability and tasks you might be interested in helping with.

If you are available to help, please call 310-652-8683 or email

Mission Statement

We are a 501c-3 dog rescue foundation dedicated to rescuing dogs, the day they are to be euthanized, from various Los Angeles shelters and placing them in loving homes. We do NOT take dogs in ... we rescue only from shelters. The Ace of Hearts Foundation is in memory of "Ace", a wonderful American Bull dog who was rescued from death, and touched the lives of many! (Especially founder Kari Whitman!) We rescue all breeds...and don't discriminate against any!

Love dogs? Looking to help out and make some new friends along the way?

We need Standby Volunteers daily!

Emergency Volunteers/Stand By's

This may seem like the least helpful, but actually our stand-by's always save us & the dogs! We need you!

You give us the days and times you are available and we add you to a list. Then, if something comes up that day- you will be the first one we call. This helps us reach out to volunteers with availability that day instead of calling our entire volunteer list. If there is a day, half a day, or even a few hours you can volunteer to be placed on a "call in case of an emergency" list, let us know! This can be for many different tasks, and almost

always requires some driving. We try very hard to plan things in advance, but if there is a last minute opportunity to save a life, get a dog adopted, or a foster emergency, it helps to have a handful of people we reach out to first!

We are in desperate need of standby volunteers!

Can't help with this but still want to volunteer? We can always use extra hands:

-Emergency fosters

-Long term fosters

-Temp tests for dogs in shelters

-Transporters (taking dogs to appointments/park/foster)

-Event volunteers

-House check volunteers
