Special Olympics New Jersey's mission is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

We are looking for volunteers to support our marquee event of the year. Summer Games. Summer Games is a annual event that takes place at The College of New Jersey and will see over 1,500 athletes competing in three days of competition in swimming, track & field, bocce, tennis, gymnastics, powerlifting, and softball.

We are looking for volunteers to assist with the following opportunities.

- Set Up/Break down
- Young Athletes program demonstration
- Track & field, timers, stagers, and awards presenters
- Swimming timers, stagers, and awards presenters
- Bocce timers, scorekeepers, and awards presenters
- Softball scorekeepers and awards presenters
- Gymnastics event volunteers and awards presenters
- Tennis scorekeepers and awards presenters
- Opening Ceremony assistants

Description

Special Olympics New Jersey provides sports training to athletes through local school, agency and community programs that compete on the Area (county), Sectional and Chapter levels in 24 sports throughout all four sports seasons.
