For the first time ever, we are co-hosting a river clean up with Riverlink to celebrate World Ocean Day. Where: At the Swannanoa River below the Nature Center When: Saturday, June 11th, 10am-12pm. Who: Ages 7 and up What: After we clean up the river, volunteers are invited to bring a picnic lunch and we will do a BioBlitz at the riverside. BioBlitz's are a great way to learn about the wildlife that lives in our rivers! Please email if you are interested in volunteering!

The Mission of the Friends of the Western North Carolina Nature Center is to create awareness and provide financial resources, through fundraising and events, in support of the Nature Center.


We are a community group of committed individuals, businesses and grantors who together support the WNC Nature Center with vital funding to provide an enriching and educational experience for visitors and schoolchildren.
