Do you have spare time to share with residents of personal care homes and nursing homes in Allegheny County? If so, then the Department of Human Services, Allegheny County, Area Agency on Aging is looking for volunteers who want to make a difference in the lives of residents in long-term care facilities. Certification training consists of online and in person modules that will teach you how to be an advocate, educate residents about their rights, and how to deal with quality of care issues and concerns. At the start of your training, you will be assigned a mentor who will assist and guide you through the certification process.
