Make a One-to-One Difference!

Volunteer for the 1:1 Program

The Mighty Writers One-to-One Program connects students in grades 2 through 12 with personalized mentoring and tutoring.

Mighty Mentors and Tutors provide one-to-one support to Mighty Writers youth, meeting remotely at least once a week for reading, writing, tutoring, goal-setting, encouragement, and a lot of listening on a flexible schedule.

Currently, one-on-one sessions are being conducted remotely and in-person.

Mission Statement

Think clearly and write with clarity is our battle cry, our tagline, our mantra. It's served as our mission statement since our launch in 2009. For those who nail both clarity of thought and expression, a lifetime of Mightiness is available for the taking. We're believers in the power of writing. But when Covid began to strangle our Mighty communities, our mission suddenly needed amending. You can't think or write with clarity if you're hungry. We launched or Lunch & Literacy food distribution program.

Description

We are mighty Writers. At Mighty Writers, we teach more than 3,500 kids to write with clarity annually. We serve children and families in and around Philadelphia, PA and in Camden, Atlantic City and Newark, NJ. We also run writing workshops in the Washington Heights community in NYC. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All programs are free to the kids we serve.
