Keep North Fulton Beautiful Event Volunteer: Bulky Recycling Event in Johns Creek

We need your help at our Johns Creek Bulky Recycling Event! Hundreds of JC residents are bringing their bulky recycling items that don't fit in normal curbside recycling bins to be recycled or donated at our event. We need your help opening, closing, and running the event ensuring it goes off without a hitch.
Location: Johns Creek City Hall, 11360 Lakefield Drive, Johns Creek, GA
Description: Place traffic cones and signs, run errands from one part of the event to the other, ensure volunteers are powered up with snacks, set up entrance and exit tents, assist with traffic flow, check participant registration, and break down cardboard.
This listing is for the early shift, but there are two service shifts: Opening and Closing. If you are interested in staying later, please sign up for additional slots. Opening volunteers will help with event set up and flow; closing volunteers will take over the duties from opening volunteers to continue to keep our event flowing and assist with event break down.
Opening volunteers 7:30am-11:00am
Closing Volunteers: 11:00am-2:30pm
Age Requirements: Solo volunteers must be 18 or older. 17-year-olds must have a guardian sign their liability waiver in order to volunteer solo. 15 and 16-year-olds must have a guardian sign their liability form AND ALSO participate in the event as a both the minor’s chaperone and an event volunteer themselves. Minimum volunteer age is 15.
Court-Ordered Volunteers: This volunteer opportunity is eligible for court-ordered community service hours, however you must be pre-approved to be eligible. Please call 770-551-7766 or email programs@knfb.org by 5pm, June 2nd to ensure your eligibility and get pre-approved.
Volunteers should be able to:
- Be outdoors, rain or shine (but not in lightning! If it comes to it, we will temporarily stop our event due to lightning and take cover).
- Stand for long periods of time *If you use a wheelchair, please let us know. We can absolutely accommodate your needs in many of our volunteer roles.
- Grip, bend, touch, and lift repeatedly.
- Uphold your role’s responsibilities independently or in a small team.
- Communicate with others: community members, fellow volunteers, and KNFB staff about any issues or emergencies that arise.

Though this is an outdoor event, all volunteers must wear a mask if not fully vaccinated for the duration of the event.

Keep North Fulton Beautiful is an environmental non-profit that provides education and conservation programs to the communities of Johns Creek and Sandy Springs. Our mission is to educate influence and activate our community in the beautification, conservation and preservation of our environment.
Description
We have served our community since our formation as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in 1984, and as an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, we share the vision of making our communities cleaner and more beautiful places to live, work, and play.
We operate the Sandy Springs Recycling Center on Morgan Falls Rd, and do business as " Keep Sandy Springs Beautiful" and " Keep Johns Creek Beautiful."
Our primary focus areas are litter prevention, beautification, waste reduction, water conservation, and environmental education.
