ORGANIZATION: Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Boston

  • 1 person is interested

Volunteer as a Big Brother to Emmanuel: an 8-year-old African American boy in Watertown who likes going to the park, going to Dave & Busters, playing video games, and going to the movies. Ideally, he would like to be matched with an African American mentor (ages 21+) who can model emotional expression and talk about feelings with Emmanuel. Emmanuel is also hoping for an energetic and patient Big Brother willing to teach him to ride a bike and tie his shoes. Volunteers from all religions and backgrounds are welcome!

Bigs commit to meeting with their Littles twice/month for at least a year; training is provided. Matches receive support from social workers with experience working with children and families. Apply now (www.jbbbs.org/volunteer), or email tania@jbbbs.org with any questions!
