Veterans Volunteer Program
Community Hospice is a proud participant in the We Honor Veterans program. This is a national awareness program that focuses on strengthening partnerships and networking with other Veteran organizations to enhance veterans and their families' care and availability of services. Our goal is to recognize our Veterans' unique needs and challenges and guide them with a respectful inquiry, compassionate listening, and grateful acknowledgment leading to a more peaceful end-of-life journey.
Our We Honor Veterans Team connects Veteran Volunteers with patient who also served in the military. Veterans can visit with fellow servicemen and women one-on-one, assist in honoring our through Veteran’s Pinning Ceremonies, or collect stories to be added to our Military Memoir Book.
Donations such as patriotic quilts and blankets, plaques or signs, and other military themed items are also greatly appreciated and will be delivered to our Veterans to let them know how much we appreciate their service.
Community Hospice volunteers are an essential part of the hospice team. Our trained volunteers provide much needed support serving our patients and families wherever they are in their journey.
