NYLAG's Public Benefits Unit is hiring students for a Total Life Choices part-time internship!
Interns will work part-time (1-2 days per week) supporting this unit by conducting intakes and joining staff attorneys on home visits. Interns will have the opportunity to work with clients and may have the opportunity to assist with drafting Last Wills and Testaments, preparing Powers of Attorney and Advance Directives, as well as all other facets encompassing TLC’s work. Preference for fluent Spanish or Haitian Creole speakers.
Law students are welcome to apply, but applicants do not need to be enrolled in law school.

NYLAG serves immigrants, seniors, the homebound, families facing foreclosure, renters facing eviction, low-income consumers, those in need of government assistance, children in need of special education, domestic violence victims, persons with disabilities, patients with chronic illness or disease, low-wage workers, low-income members of the LGBT community, Holocaust survivors, and others in need of free legal services.

REQUIREMENTS
- NYLAG summer internships run from 5/31/22 - 8/5/22. If hired, this part-time intern/volunteer can work with their supervisor to find dates that work for them. There is also the potential to extend this opportunity into the fall.
