Southerncare Hospice not only provides exceptional care, but also enhances its services with the help of volunteers.

Visiting a patient for an hour-once a week, twice a month or even once a month-makes a difference. Conversation, music, reading, watching television together or accompanying a patient to a facility activity can brighten the patient's day and give him/her something to look forward to each week.

Volunteers usually get matched with compatible patients and location closer to home, making visits easy and convenient for both the volunteer and the patient.

The southerncare Hospice volunteer program offers opportunities for volunteers not only to make a difference in the lives of the patients they visits, but also meet the other volunteers similar goals and values, and attend monthly lunch and learn educational presentations as well as other activities during the year.
