In the weeks before the November 2022 election, the League of Women Voters Oakland will host or co-host several community events, voter registration, non-partisan candidate forums and information forums to help voters learn about key ballot measures and local races. Most will involve Oakland elections, some might before Alameda County races and ballot measures.
The event ground rules and format are established by the long traditions of the League of Women Voters (affecting all of its local chapters).
An event coordinator can work on one or more events and will work primariily on logistics in collaboration with League leadership. League leaders will communicate with candidates or issue experts. The event coordinator will assist with outreach and publicity, identifying venues and co-sponsors and assisting with program flow and management on the day of the event.
We anticipate that planning can be completed virtually. If the events are staged virtually, the coordinator will still be needed to assist with logistics.

Dating to its founding in 1920, the League of Women Voters U.S. has a long, proud history of expanding voter access, fighting voter suppression, advocating for limits of money in politics, and opposing partisan and racial gerrymandering. We believe in the power of women to create a more perfect democracy.
The League of Women Voters Oakland is part of a national network of more than 700 local and state Leagues with more than 500,000 members nationally operating in all 50 states. With more than 300 members, League of Women Voters Oakland is the largest per capita membership of any big city League in the State of California, serving Oakland voters since 1964.
