We are looking for high energy creatives to join our team!

Discover Camp Garland is looking for volunteers who are creative and have experience working with children! Volunteers will help primarily between the hours of 11 to 4 Monday through Thursday! Volunteers will be assisting out counselors with our in person summer camp activities!

SUMMER CAMP INSTRUCTORS

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow schedule of daily camp activities
  • Assist with camp activities
  • Promotes camp participant safety at all times
  • Crafts,Games & Activities
  • Regular and timely attendance is required, as well as, the ability to get along with others in a professional and cordial manner.
  • Working knowledge of recreational games, crafts and activities.
  • Working ability to supervise children of varying age levels in a group setting
  • Ability to actively participate/supervise in games or craft activities.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules

WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience in summer camp, day care, church camp, public recreation, and/or outdoor activities is preferred.

Must bring high energy and smiling face to camp every single day!

We believe every child deserves opportunity, no matter who you are, or where you're from. Volunteers help DCG provide help us continue to provide low cost to no cost children's programing throughout the year to children across the United States. Our 501(3)c non-profit focuses on building future leaders through mentorship, leadership and instilling team work through recreational programming and education. We are dedicated to our mission of being inclusive in sharing those critical childhood experiences and building blocks that help shape a child's life. For economically disadvantaged children, the opportunity to be submerged in these type of programs that help guide them as they grow older often evades them.

Discover Camp Garland was created with expertise from over 30 years of experience in a municipality recreation!

The goal for our programs are to provide campers a unique experience than what other camps may provide. Campers will enjoy a safe and comfortable play environment where participants will enjoy games and active activities, arts and music, field-trips, mentorship programs and more.
