We are looking for 4 volunteers that are comfortable working with grieving youth. Experience with loss is helpful but not required. You would be going to 4-5 schools one day a week for 8 weeks to facilitate grief groups in elementary, middle and high schools. Grief activities would be provided, compensation for gas and all supplies. It sounds a little scary, but really is about holding space and giving them a safe place to process grief.

We run 3 eight week sessions per school year so someone would need to commit to the entire school year. Consistency is key in building trust with this kiddos.

It is incredibly rewarding to change the life of a child grieving and you'll find they teach you as much as you can teach them.

1 Shift

  • 08:00 AM to 02:30 AM
Usually Wednesday and Thursdays. We will need 2 people for 3 eight week sessions.
  • NONE OF THESE TIMES WORK FOR ME, BUT I CAN STILL HELP

About RONNIES HOUSE FOR HOPE

Location:

42-215 WASHINGTON STREET A196, PALM DESERT, CA 92211, US

Mission Statement

Ronnie's House For Hope provides support for children, teens and their families following a death. We do this through peer support groups, education and play. Providing a safe place to express themselves, gain coping skills and allowing them to share their experiences with one another and grieving in their own way and time. This allows them to build a community of support around them.

Description

RHFH is currently running day time grief groups within DSUSD and adult groups every other weekend. We strive to give every child, teen or adult a safe place to process grief and learn coping skills to manage it. We will be launching in late 2022 Forever 18, Steven's Story, Fentanyl Awareness. Our groups are growing in size due to Fentanyl deaths. We will be running presentations and educating our children. It is incredible to volunteer with these strong and brave kiddos. They will change your life as much as you can change theirs.
