Once again, the Friends of Lancaster Public Library will host the BIG Book Sale at the former Bon Ton building at Park City Center!Be among FRIENDS when you volunteer to help with SET UP! As a Big Book Sale Set Up Volunteer, you will help unpack the books and arrange them on tables - if you show up, we'll show you what to do! As a bonus, you will have an opportunity to preview books available at the sale. After the books are all unpacked, you may purchase up to $100 of books for yourself in appreciation of your help.
- There is no need to sign up for this volunteer opportunity, just drop by and we’ll put you to work.
- Enter the former Bon Ton building via doors on the east side of the building (Boscov’s side).
- Ages 14+ please
- This role will require walking, bending, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
- Accommodations available upon request
- Please wear closed-toe shoes and appropriate clothing
- Space will be available to safely store small items like a coat, keys, purse, water bottle or packed lunch/snack

The Lancaster Public Library is a 501 (C)(3) Not-For-Profit agency representing a 14 municipality service area with three branches in the communtiy. It provides public access to a variety of services, programs and information resources to enhance individual knowledge, community enrichment and economic vitality. The Library currently has 75,000 card holders.
The Lancaster Public Library offers the most free services by anyLancasterCountynon-profit. With over 400,000 patron visits recorded in 2011, it offered over 800 programs for children and youth and adults and The Duke Street Business Center assisted 1400 businesses in 2010 .The Library provides over 300,000 books , periodicals, DVDs, CDs, Audiobooks and Kindles as well as materials for children and adults in fourteen world languages. Unique in theU.S.is theAutismResourceCenteropening in 2010. The Center provides a welcoming environment for individuals with Autism, their teachers, families and support specialists. Hundreds of print, audio and video materials as well as computers and Boardmaker software are available.

Today, the Lancaster Public Library consists of theDuke Street(main)library with branches in LPL East-Leola Branch and LPL West-Mountville Branch. These sites provide direct library service to approximately 40 per cent ofLancasterCounty's population in fourteen municipalities. It also serves as State designatedLibraryCenter providing interlibrary loan and reference service to its service area.
