The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates volunteers about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. CERT offers a consistent, nationwide approach to volunteer training and organization that professional responders can rely on during disaster situations, allowing them to focus on more complex tasks.
We will be doing eight instructional classes and one hands-on skills day for all students. After instuction and skills are completed, we will have a disaster scenario to exercise your new skills.
The instructional classes will be held at Brazosport College, with the option to attend virtually through our online learning portal. Instructional classes will be every Tuesday and Thursday, September 6 - September 29, 2022, from 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm.
Details for the skills day and disaster scenario locations and times will be provided at a later date. Sign up here: https://bit.ly/3OPXXfw
