Recruiting Organization: BEACON for Adult Literacy

BEACON for adult literacy, an award-winning literacy organization, is recruiting virtual volunteers to teach conversation classes for English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) using Zoom. This is a professional-level volunteer opportunity providing a paid service. Volunteers teach once (or twice a week) and must plan their own lesson, using materials provided by BEACON.

No second language or teaching experience is required; experience using Zoom is a plus. Free, professional level training is provided.

The three-week summer conversation classes are Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m.; July 11th to July 29th.

Mandatory training will be Saturday, June 11 from 9:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. via Zoom.

Learn more about becoming a trained volunteer teacher and being a part of our team to help empower adults through literacy. Volunteers must submit a volunteer application ( ESL Volunteering Application | BEACON for Adult Literacy - Prince William County, Virginia (beaconliteracy.org)) and pass a background check. Email Jmorazuniga@osbva.org to hear more about this exciting and rewarding opportunity. You can also visit us on Facebook and www.beaconliteracy.org!
