Volunteer Humanity is looking for volunteers who are 18 years old or older and have an interest in women's health, sexual health, and abortion accessibility. Volunteers will help Haley Martin, a VH Volunteer Leader who is creating a nationwide web-based resource hub for people seeking nonjudgmental, safe, gender-inclusive, and factual information on sexual health. For Haley's project, volunteers will look up clinics, support groups, and hotlines in one US state, type out the information and send it to Haley. Volunteers should get one state done per week. This is an ongoing project, so if you want more hours or wish to support the mission, you can continue assisting until all 50 states are completed. Volunteer Humanity aims to serve all people and all issues, no matter how big or how small. It accomplishes the feat with the power of humane service and the excellent minds that will create the future: students.
Students are often the main force of volunteer works, as community service is a key component in earning college scholarships, graduating high school, and landing careers. Yet, students are often considered last or not at all in the setup of community service organizations. This is what makes Volunteer Humanity unique from other non-profits. We do not use volunteers to benefit us. Rather, our program is built to benefit volunteers.
Our volunteer program guarantees up to 100 hours of service opportunities offered to each volunteer who joins the fall-spring program and up to 30 hours for our summer program. We accomplish this by providing multiple projects, helping volunteers time manage, and providing special opportunities for program participants, including creating their own service projects!
