Join Simply the Basics as we assemble hygiene and menstrual kits to support the health and wellness of our communities!
The evening will begin by having an engaging conversation surrounding our programs and impact, hygiene, homelessness, and the impact that inaccessibility of hygiene can have on our health.
The remainder of the evening will involve sorting hygiene products, packing hygiene and feminine hygiene packs, and writing messages for the community!
A fun and impactful evening for individuals, friends, corporate groups, team building, schools and families, and more!
(Private groups available upon request)
- Assembly hygiene and menstrual kits

- Unpack and shelve hygiene products
- Support with counting products for inventory

Open House evenings are most Wednesdays from 4-6:30 p.m. You can RSVP directly through email or sign up on our website to receive notifications for our next event! Exact address is provided with RSVP.
Details for all Volunteer Opportunities
- Considerations: Age 16+, or otherwise accompanied by an adult. Comfortable moving supplies/boxes around 20-30lbs. Must be able to position self to gather and move supplies/boxes from under tables to above.
- COVID Safety/Masks Required: Open House will be indoors and require facemasks to be worn through the entirety of the evening.

Mission Statement
The Mission of Simply the Basics is to provide for individuals, organizations, and communities their most basic needs with dignity so that they can focus on bigger goals. We simply remove barriers, allowing people to have the opportunity to achieve.
Description
Simply the Basics is inspired by Abraham Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, the philosophy that people are unable to focus on any needs higher than their current level on the following pyramid. If they are unable to meet needs at the very basic level (food, shelter, clothing, education, and hygiene), they will be incapable of moving up in the pyramid to reach greater goals (job security, sobriety, mental and physical health, and self actualization).
By alleviating the struggle to meet a most basic need, a person can achieve independence in other areas. By removing the barrier of finding the next meal or safe place to sleep, securing hygiene products, and meeting any other basic human needs...People are given the Opportunity to Achieve.
