Are you a friendly, reliable, and safe driver that can give a few hours to help a senior or disabled person in need? Volunteer drivers are needed to provide round-trip transportation for seniors (55+) and folks with disabilities. Drivers provide an invaluable service for seniors by taking them on essential trips to the doctor, to buy groceries, to the bank, etc.

As a volunteer, your schedule is completely flexible; you drive when you have time and no regular commitment is required. Additionally, you can be reimbursed for your gas costs and will receive supplemental car insurance for rides you provide as a volunteer. After you sign up, we'll reach out to you (and our other volunteer drivers) via email on a weekly basis with a list of upcoming rides that need a volunteer driver. If you can help with any of the requests, just shoot us a reply.

Becoming a volunteer driver is a simple and fun way to build community, reduce isolation, and help all people in our community enjoy the freedom of movement.

This opportunity lists it's location as the Volunteer Center's building in Santa Cruz. In reality though, volunteers will be serving around Santa Cruz County by picking up a client at their house, taking them to their destination, and then taking them home afterwards. Volunteers will not be spending any time at the Volunteer Center's office.
