Hospice enrichment volunteers provide comfort, compassion, and care for the patients and the people around them. There are many ways they can do this such as:
- Spending time and being present with the patient
- Reading or playing soothing music
- Playing games like cards or board games
- Writing legacy letters with the patient
- Doing light household chores
- Providing respite so family caregivers can take a break
- Providing haircuts or manicures, playing an instrument or creating art projects
- Assisting with the planning of facility holiday parties and activities
- Assisting with the day-to-day administrative needs
- Administrative, HR and Marketing
Hospice enrichment volunteers include non-hospice patients in all open area activities. This is to provide support to the facility staff and assist in fall prevention by providing an extra set of eyes during the time of day that fall risk is high such as shift change and in between meals.

Description
Hospice care is a form of palliative care for those with terminal illnesses and their families. It is meant for people who have 6 months or less to live. Rather than trying to cure an illness, hospice aims to:
Make the patient comfortable.
Ease pain and other symptoms.
Support the family through a sad and difficult time.
Hospice care aims to provide the best quality of life for all patients. This is done through a holistic approach. It offers spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical comfort to the patients, their families, and their caregivers.
