NJ Teen Sports & Arts Ambassadors

Save to Favorites

We are looking for students who are currently in grades 9 to 12 to join SoulPhamm as "Team Ambassadors". You will serve from June 2022 to June 2023 (with a slight break over the summer) and can use the experience for community service hours for your schools.

You will join one of the following teams: boys' basketball, girls' cheerleading, co-ed step team, girls' hip-hop majorette dance (some form of dance experience required), sorority or co-ed drumline (some form of music experience required).

You will work with coaches to develop the program that you join toward the goal of making SoulPhamm a recognizable organization for youth development. Some programs may have younger participants (ages 9/10), and, in those cases, you will help strengthen their skills as their mentors. You will begin on Saturday, June 25th from 12pm to 5pm. After that, we take a break in the summer and return in August. The location is likely to be in Newark or Union, New Jersey.

Current 1st/2nd year college students are welcomed for majorette dance, drumline and step. Please specify that when you reply.

Please specify which group you are joining when you reach out or you will not receive a response. There is no cost to do this except for your time and commitment.

About SoulPhamm Inc

613 Washington Boulevard, Suite 1129, Jersey City, NJ 07310, US

Mission Statement

Our mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of young people by providing unique artistic and athletic experiences and performances, and to assist them in achieving the highest standards of professionalism through the development of discipline, skill, confidence, cooperation, leadership, responsibility and character.

Our vision is to promote virtue, equity, unity, justice, faith, charity and a sense of common purpose and brotherhood among all people with an emphasis on the development and advancement of young people through education, athletics, service and the arts.

SoulPhamm was incorporated as a nonprofit organization in the state of New Jersey on June 25, 2021 and is the "birth-child" of Coach Luis ("Lou") and Dr. Leisa Herrera ("Mz. Doc"). The organization exists to provide training to young people in a variety of sports and performing arts and unique opportunities to display those talents through competition and performance. By integrating mentoring, life skills, opportunities for community service and academic enrichment to the athletic/artistic program, we help make our scholar-athletes as well-rounded as possible, capable of meeting and overcoming any challenges they are faced with. Although Coach Lou passed away suddenly in January 2021, the official launch of SoulPhamm was held on June 26, 2021, which coincided with his birthday weekend. SoulPhamm will recognize its own founding, as well as the achievements of our young people every year on the fourth Saturday of June, as a tribute to the life and legacy of Coach Lou.
