Recruiting Organization: St. Joseph Worker Program of Orange

This service year opportunity will allow women to help vulnerable community members and at-risk families by working with Mission Hospital's Community Benefit team. Discover your own leadership style while working with administrative professionals to gain working experience to discover your passions.

You will assist in responding to the some of the greatest needs in the community which includes mental health & substance use, immigration status and economic security. Projects could involve giving presentations, teaching classes, assisting with clinics, screenings and/or visiting and providing care for patients in the community. You will also have an opportunity to be involved with key projects in other social issues such as, human trafficking.

Also, you will work directly with local Family Resource Centers who provide parent, teen and child education classes, support groups, counseling services, and information and resources to the community. Ability to speak Spanish is preferred.

Job descriptions can be adjusted based on the interest, skills and talents of the volunteer to meet her needs and those of the Placement Site. Essential Skills:

We invite women ages 21-35 to join our St. Joseph Worker program. We have short- and long-term placements, 6-11 months. We provide room and board a monthly stipend, transportation to service site, health insurance if needed, and mentoring and training for personal and professional development. Besides work experience our volunteers have the opportunity to develop and grow in spirituality in the spirit of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange.
