Recruiting Organization: Harm Reduction Circle

Who We Are: Harm Reduction Circle is a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization based in California with the mission is to provide support & resources to reduce the negative consequences associated with drug use, with a focus on EDM/rave communities. Our unique approach is to target both individuals who intend to use substances that place them at high risk for overdose, & those who do not intend to do so - but are still at risk of unknowingly using them. Our event services specifically focus on raising awareness in the rave community through education, resources, & supply distribution. This includes substance testing, trip sitting support, training to event staff & guests, & providing distribution of many life-saving overdose prevention supplies, including Narcan Nasal Spray.

Accomplishments: Since the start of the 2022 calendar year, 11,354 individuals have successfully completed our virtual naloxone training, we’ve shipped 8,261 packages containing Narcan, totaling more than 17,120 doses of naloxone in all, saving 129 confirmed lives. Within our first year of establishment, we provided harm reduction services at more than 50 events across the west coast, distributed more than 8,000 condoms, & 13,200 clean syringes. HRC has become one of the top reporters of overdose data in the state of California for the 1st & 2nd Quarters of 2022.

Position Title: Social Media Coordinator

Compensation: Unpaid/Volunteer

Start Date: ASAP

Location: Remote

Time Commitment: 2-4 hours /week

Responsibilities: This position entails managing the day-to-day tasks required to ensure that Harm Reduction Circle’s online presence meets the needs of the entire organization. Our website, Facebook page, Twitter account, Instagram account, and other HRC social media accounts are all under this position’s responsibility. This position frequently involves working with our content creators on new content or other marketing materials with the purpose of generating public awareness, gaining additional bookings, recruiting volunteers, and engaging with the general public. Discord management may be a part of this process. You may request that we bring on a Social Media Assistant to assist you if desired.

Qualifications: Prior experience with social media management.Excellent organizational & written communication skills, self-starter, problem starter, freethinker, open-minded, & nonjudgemental.

Preferred Candidate: Passionate Burner Community, or EDM/rave community. Desired, but not required!
