We are looking for couples or individuals serve as Visitor Service & Safety Volunteers in The Needles district of Canyonlands National Park . Minimum time commitment is three weeks of 32 hours/week; the position could last up to seven weeks.
This volunteer position functions with both the Interpretation & Visitor Services and Visitor & Resource Protection divisions. The volunteer will provide courteous assistance and information to park visitors, with an emphasis on preventing search & rescue operations by educating visitors about heat and desert safety.
The Needles is a very rural location with no cellular service. This is a great opportunity for someone who likes to meet people of all ages and backgrounds, enjoys variety in their days, and will relish the peace and quiet of this off-the-grid setting.
