Social Media Lead
At The League of Women Voters in Oakland, our mission is to promote political responsibility through informed and active participation in government.
We are searching for a Social Media Lead to spend 1-2 hours per week working to engage and build our audience.
- Recommend post ideas from our newsletters, events, and blogs
- Guide our communications interns to create supporting graphics
- Manage and monitor our online communities to ensure respectful and appropriate engagement
- Analyze data to determine the effectiveness of social media outreach
We are looking for someone with good writing and communication skills and some Social Media experience. While this is a virtual opportunity, we are looking for LOCALLY based volunteers in or around Oakland, CA.
We are a nonprofit organization made up of a passionate group of volunteers and board members who are passionate about defending democracy through education and voting.

Dating to its founding in 1920, the League of Women Voters U.S. has a long, proud history of expanding voter access, fighting voter suppression, advocating for limits of money in politics, and opposing partisan and racial gerrymandering. We believe in the power of women to create a more perfect democracy.
The League of Women Voters Oakland is part of a national network of more than 700 local and state Leagues with more than 500,000 members nationally operating in all 50 states. With more than 300 members, League of Women Voters Oakland is the largest per capita membership of any big city League in the State of California, serving Oakland voters since 1964.
