College student home for the summer and looking for volunteer hours or ways to keep buys? Become a hospice volunteer with Caris!

This is a great way to stand out on your resume, especially if you are going into the healthcare field and will be applying to nursing school or medical school! This shows that you have experience working with those who are at the end of life, and can help you stand out.

Volunteers go directly into the facilities that our patients live in and spend one on one time with them. This can look like sitting by their bedside chatting with them, reading to them, painting their nails, watching TV with them, playing cards, or even just sitting with them while they sleep to help provide an extra level of comfort for them.

Volunteers get to create their own visiting schedules and visit at times that work for them. We just ask for around an hour or so every week to provide a sense of consistency for the patient.

If you are musically gifted you can also play an instrument for the patient and be a hospice music volunteer! This can help bring back memories at the end of life and help bring a sense of comfort to them as well.

Requirements:
-16+ years old with drivers license and auto insurance
-fully covid vaccinated
-registered with the MO Family Safety Registry (required to see hospice patients in the state of MO)
-drug test
-2 part TB skin test (4 total steps)
-online trainings
-hospice orientation

If interested please contact Volunteer Coordinator Anna Hale at ahale@carishealthcare.com :) We would love to have you join our volunteer team!
