About the ReStore: The Fort Collins Habitat for Humanity ReStore serves as a fundraising enterprise to support Habitat’s mission of providing affordable homeownership opportunities to Fort Collins families. Staff and volunteers are integral to the success of the store and have the opportunity to interact with customers, donors, volunteers, and supporters from around the community. Every interaction can help to further Habitat’s mission and make HOME possible! Our guiding values for the ReStore are Integrity, Respect, Teamwork, and Continuous Improvement.
About the role: The ReStore is a fast-paced retail environment, and often times, projects or product deliveries come up with little time to recruit and train a new group of volunteers. The On Call Crew supports the ReStore team by noting that they are interested in helping and have the availability to be called for a project on short notice. Projects that utilize the On Call Crew include:
- Receiving and sorting large quantities of products such as paint, rugs, and other donations, as they arrive at the ReStore.
- Helping with a donation pick up that is outside of the normal schedule.
- Working with the team to prepare the store for improvement projects, such as redoing the floor, reorganizing sections, etc.
We are looking for volunteers who:
- Have a flexible schedule and don’t mind being called with short notice for a project.
- Enjoy a variety of projects and tasks.
- Have a passion and excitement for the ReStore.
Reports to: Volunteer Manager & ReStore Manager on Duty
Time Commitment: Projects vary in timing and can run anywhere from 2-8 hours depending on the number of volunteers committed and nature of the project. Details will be shared by the Volunteer Manager when the volunteer is called.

Description
Fort Collins Habitat for Humanity partners with local families to provide affordable homeownership opportunities. Families go through an application process to be selected and qualify by income, ability to pay a mortgage, residency, and willingness to partner. Once selected, families complete sweat equity by attending educational classes about homeownership and by building their home onsite alongside staff and volunteers.
The ReStore is another component of the organization. It serves as a fundraising enterprise to support Habitat' mission of providing affordable homeownership opportunities to local families. The ReStore operates as a thrift store that accepts donations from the community and sells them back at a lower cost.
