Comfort Hospice volunteers might:
- provide companionship and emotional support to the patient and family members
- offer friendly visits
- prepare occasional light meals
- sing, talk, read with the patient
- watch TV with the patient
- help write letters, emails
- play games with the patient
- offer short term respite visits to offer relief for the family and caregivers
Volunteers CANNOT do the following:
- provide transportation for the patient or family
- transfer or lift a patient
- provide personal care such as feeding, bathing, or toileting
- feed a patient
- administer any medications

Opportunities
There are several different ways that you can become involved with Harmony Caress Hospice:
- Offering companionship and support to our patients and their family members
- Providing assistance with clerical duties within our office
- Assisting in our bereavement department
- Supporting special projects behind the scenes
- Youth Volunteers (between the ages of 14-17) may volunteer to assist with the administrative duties within our office
