Help Habitat build at our Esperanza Place site - the future home for 42 families in Walnut Creek!

Esperanza Place (Walnut Creek):
Join Habitat East Bay/Silicon Valley as we build our first net zero development! Help us transform a vacant lot into a beautiful, thriving community in Walnut Creek. Esperanza Place will be a mixed-income development of affordable townhomes, offering 42 families earning limited incomes the chance to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through homeownership.

No Experience Necessary!
Our group of dedicated Habitat staff, amazing AmeriCorps Crew Leaders, and fellow Habitat volunteers will teach you all you need to know. Whether you have never picked up a hammer, are and experienced tradesperson, or fall somewhere in between, sign up to volunteer with us to learn new skills, have fun, and support affordable housing!

  • Wear work clothes and sturdy, close-toed shoes. Bring a lunch (if applicable to your shift timing) and a refillable water bottle. Any necessary tools, safety equipment, and training are provided on your volunteer day.
  • For safety reasons, all volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Volunteers under the age of 18 must bring a signed minor waiver form with them to the site. Minor waiver forms are available here:
  • Volunteer opportunities available Wednesday through Friday from 8:30am-4:00pm (full-day only).
